Residency

Arte has been running an international Titanik A.i.R. artist residency programme since 2006, and from 2013 the focus of the residency has been on sound art. The residency is located in Turku, South-West coast of Finland.

The residencies are 1–3 months long and include free accommodation in a studio apartment near Titanik and a studio space in the gallery. The residence apartment measures 27 m2, and is ideal for one or two people. Unfortunately, the apartment is not fully accessible, and artists must finance their own living and travel expenses. The residency is self-directed, but Titanik staff will assist and guide the artist in residence as much as possible alongside their other work.

An open call for the residency is held once a year, on the basis of which Arte board will select the artists in residence. Arte actively seeks to increase the diversity of the contemporary art scene and welcomes artists from all backgrounds to apply.

Turun Ekotori has sponsored the residency programme with two bicycles.

Titanik A.i.R. Open Call for 2026 will be announced after summer 2025.
