    “What does it mean to connect with desire in a world that is falling apart? 

    How can we practice listening beyond our aural capacities? 

    What can listening together teach us about the relationship between vulnerability and intimacy?

    During my time in Turku, I became uninterested in arriving at definitive answers to these questions. I built a tolerance to hold the complexity of not knowing. I carved out space for somatic responses through a listening practice. I prioritised my desires and tuned into the joys of experimentation. — “

    On August 1, I returned to Turku for a month as the Titanik Artist in Residence. This was my fifth journey to Turku. Titanik’s director Farbod Fakharzadeh asks me why I love this city and I say it has something to do with the light and the air.  But to be exact, it’s the wind and the people.

    June and July at Titanik unfolded me: the days were full of writing, thinking, and listening through headphones–hiding from the heat in the studio at the gallery with my mixer, pedals, and a jar of tisane. The nights, then, were for walking by the river and poems, sometimes there were secrets, and always this untouched
