Félix Blume’s project for Titanik Residency rose from an unexpected casual discovery putting together 2 walkie-talkies and a set of microphones: they generate a kind of electromagnetic field interfering with the microphones, an unexpected sound. From this phenomenon as a starting point, he will experiment the way of performing (inside or in the public space)

Stand-up comedians wanted!
Artist Humberto Duque is looking for experienced and inexperienced comedians from different backgrounds, of all nationalities, genders, and ages, who would like to do stand-up comedy in their native language as part of his project at Titanik this spring. Yamashita, Ikehara, Urata: Moi Moi Konnichiwa | 16.-25.11.2018
“Since we arrived in Turku in early October, we have experienced various experiences and encounters. Everything we see, look, hear and listen, such as people, nature, culture, are fresh.”
Through their experiences of being in Turku, the artists are to produce works, referring a local culture and daily life in Turku. Their artworks and existence would draw people’s interest and will revise their perspective of Japanese culture.
We hope that it will bring fruitful communication between two different cultures in this exhibition.
